The horizontally-mounted Alfa Laval Contherm is a scraped surface heat exchanger consisting of a heat transfer cylinder and a rotor with attached scraping blades. The product is pumped into the lower end of the Contherm heat exchange cylinder. As it flows through the cylinder, it is continuously removed from the cylinder’s precisely finished walls by the scraping blades. Each rotor will turn at a final speed of 255 rpm.
