Alfa Laval’s Contherm™ 6 x 3 scraped surface heat exchanger enables optimal heat transfer in foods where textures and consistencies are limiting factors, such as viscous sauces and gravies, or mixes and blends that contain food particulates. Product and media counter flow through an insulated cylinder in the heat exchanging process with a coil in the annulus of the system increasing media velocity, thus boosting the efficiency of heat transferred. Rotor speed can also be varied to address specific products and applications. Applications include: caRam Industriesel, cheese sauces, sugar concentrates, baby food and pie fillings, anything that can block or foul standard heat exchangers. Top inlet: 2-1/4 in. dia.
